World Maths Day 2010 in Bahrain
Here are our World Maths Day friends at the British School of Bahrain. They obviously got up to a fair bit on 3 March 2010. Here are some of the activities they were involved in as part of celebrating World Maths Day.
Saphira Isa, one of the teachers says.
“We of course had the kids taking part in WMD, but also had a big balloon release competition, we sold fractions of pizza and squash at break, we had a heaviest potato competition, we played mass bingo (with 500 children taking part!) We also had a junior school competition to find the maths whizz champions for years 3,4,5 and 6 – and we held our final live on air on Radio Bahrain! We got a lot of press coverage!”
The school even achieved an official World Record for their school balloon launch. So that’s two World Records and counting achieved on WMD 2010.
