Congratulations from Paul M in Asia

Hello All,

I just had to drop a short line to say how enormously proud I am of all of the Asian Mathletes who contributed to dominate the top of the medal board for the World Maths Day competition in 2010.

The fact that 3 of the top 4 positions on the medal tally are taken by students and schools in the Asian Territory is nothing short of fantastic!

I have to say that I should have known that this might have been the case as I visited schools in Singapore, Malaysia, China and Hong Kong in the lead up to World Maths Day to distribute iPod touches to Ambassadors and to speak to teachers and students. Without exception every school that I visited was buzzing with anticipation of the event. It was an absolute pleasure to see these excited, intelligent students keen to get on board.

You have all done a fabulous job.

Congratulations to all participants and especially to the very successful Asian Mathletes!

Cheers

Paul

Ya, Indonesia is where I live and you need an ambassador from here, because heaps of kids from Indonesia do WMD and there needs to be a person to see and watch them.

What a great World Maths Day 2010.

I wish that next year we have our own Ambassador also from Indonesia so that there will be somebody who will monitor progress in this country and all of us will be more motivated to participate World Maths Day 2011.

    Cheers!
