Congratulations and thanks from our Ambassador in Guatemala, Cristian M

Hi, mathletes!

I hope you all enjoyed taking part in World Maths Day as much as everyone I know did!

I want to take this opportunity to congratulate:

  • Avit P a little boy from Thailand who is showing his ability to the world at a very young age.
  • Kaya G from Australia for winning the contest this year which makes him a winner 2 years in row!
  • David A from Australia for being a winner in the 14-18 WMD category.
  • My teacher, Alejandro Mena , for his score of 48666 points in the Teachers/ Parents category, but mainly because he shared his time and effort with us!
  • Teachers from The Colegio Internacional Montessori:  Mónica Zúñiga, Ana Paola Alvarez, and Lilian Moreno de Guzmán who even brought her baby to our school during the competition, Ruby Gálvez, and Ernesto (Neto) Gálvez.

  • All Guatemalan schools who decided to join us to celebrate numbers, especially students and teachers from Colegio Americano de Guatemala, Colegio Americano del Sur, Instituto Experimental de la Asunción, and Capouilliez who  also made it to the Hall of Fame.
  • All mathletes especially those from Latin America!
  • Tatiana D who writes interesting blogs and for finishing 2nd!

I wanted to share with you that my teacher, my Coordinator, and I were interviewed by Noti7. (News crew)  I will try to get the videos for you!

I want to thank:

  • Peter Chance from England for helping where needed (photos, pizza, and words in English).
  • All the teachers at schools who supported us and were willing to make a few changes in their schedules.
  • Parents for allowing their children to stay at school until 10:00P.M. (2 nights) J, letting them come in pyjamas, and supporting this world event.
